Remote Inspection Application - D11-2022

The assignment

What is the goal of the project?
The Remote Inspection Application project is a collaborative project between TechnipFMC and a group of three bachelor students at USN.
The main goal of the project is to design and create an online conference web application which functions similarily to programs like Zoom or Microsoft Teams,
but with extra functionalities required to accommodate for a module testing process TechnipFMC often perform in front of clients.

Today, if one of TechnipFMC's clients wants to attend to a module inspection, they might have to fly across multiple borders to reach the inspection site,
which is time consuming and costly both for the client and for the environment.
With a fully developed version of the Remote Inspection web app, TechnipFMC could save their clients from all this hassle,
and the clients would be able to conveniently join an inspection from anywhere in the world.

What has been made so far?
The Remote Inspection Application project is far too big a project for only three students to finish over a semester,
so the bachelor group's goal has been to design and lay a strong foundation for the implementation of the program,
as well as to implement its most essential features, so that further development will go as smoothly as possible for the next developers to take the challenge.

What the group has to offer, is a web app with a user registration and login system, and the ability to create chat rooms,
where the users can send and recieve text messages in real time in a group chat over a Local Area Network,
while the host is streaming video from any number of cameras connected to their computer.

What is the group's work methodology?
The bachelor group has been using Scrum as their main work methodology, in order to take advantage of the limited group size and focus on rapid development.
